25 November 2023 - Agadir Al Massira Airport passes the 2 million passenger mark once again

After hitting the 2 million passenger mark in the final days of 2019, Agadir Al Massira airport achieved this milestone for the second time today, Saturday, November 25, 2023, well before the year ends.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA), in collaboration with the Agadir Regional Tourism Council, is organizing a ceremony at Agadir Al Massira airport to welcome the 2 millionth passenger. This lucky passenger received gifts from numerous partners.

With 1,867,653 passengers welcomed by the end of October 2023, Agadir Al Massira airport had record traffic, reflecting an 11% rise over the same period in 2019 and a 33% increase over 2022.

This performance was driven by the creation of several new air routes linking the airport to several European cities, including first-time destinations such as Riga in Latvia.

The return of activity at Agadir airport to levels seen previous to COVID suggests that a new air traffic record is on the way between now and the end of the year.

To meet this air traffic dynamic, ONDA intends to expand and rebuild the terminal facilities at Agadir Al Massira Airport, increasing the airport's capacity to about 5 million passengers per year. ONDA has already announced an architectural competition to identify the architect who would design the project.
